About IFPN
Information for new and potential members
Welcome to IFPN. Our organisation is young and dynamic and works
hard to fulfil the objectives, the strategic aims, and the current
work in progress.
Newsletters are produced for the website regularly, to keep members
up to speed with activities. When a newsletter is posted, the previous
one is archived, so that a continuous record is available.
In February 2006 we have 9 members (which are noted elsewhere)
representing some 80,000 perioperative nurses around the world,
and we are working hard to introduce new members to the benefits
of membership.
If you are wishing to join the membership you will want to know:-
- That an increasing number of IFPN guidelines
are available as download from the site.
- That the affiliation of IFPN to ICN provides
a link and a stream of monthly information from ICN on international
activities and nursing issues forming policy and influencing WHO
agendas.
- IFPN is the only Perioperative nursing
voice at ICN.
- Membership categories are full membership
and pre-membership status.

The advantages of a global network in which to share practice,
is that no problem is a new one! Almost every issue is one that
has been resolved at some time somewhere, by someone, and by sharing
solutions we can save time, learn beneficial lessons form colleagues
and share experiences.
The website is planned to be a learning resource about the organisation,
about our shared goals and aspirations and to further the aims of
IFPN. We have achieved a significant amount in the six years since
the launch, and there are many plans currently being developed.
We hope that you and your organisation will be interested in joining
us to further promote quality Perioperative patient care around
the world. If you have any further questions or would like to contact
us, please email ifpn@afpp.org.uk
